The snow has started falling for real here in Skövde so I thought I might as well start blogging for real! I have been an novelty seeker for quite some time now. Now it is time to start to share all the things I have found during years of restless surfing! I will go through all kinds of stuff I like, old stuff, new stuff, form any subject really. The progress and fruits of the various projects I am working on will sometimes share the stage with the vastness of all the wonderful stuff the world has to serve us this day! It is mindblowing!
One of the projects is to produce a podcast, eclectic mixes of very good music. I have lots of mixes planned, but they take time to make, so until then check these pilot mixes out! Part 1 is fast, jolly and has the narrative of dracula, ending in neurofunk drum n bass. Part 2 in is a bit slower, deeper and longer. Pilot mix, meaning that this is in a kind of warm up stage where I try to learn to mix with Ableton Live. That also means that some of the tracks will be reused. These mixes where also designed especially with some of my friends in mind! But give them a try, you may find some really good new music!

And as I am going to be more spontaneous this time with the blog, I will tell you about the wonderful music I am listening to at the moment! It is a series of mixes done by one of my all time favorite artists Autechre. They are not at all like their own music. But if you like any electronic music, and especially if you like some older stuff, they are truly ace! Music that you don´t here anywhere else. Great party music! Lots of synth pop, old school hip hop, acid house, minimal stuff, wierd shit, electrofunk, strange techno and electro, very positive and engaging music! Things so funky your pants will drop of before you even have time to say “jack the house”!
It´s from 3 different sets, together 42 hours. They where recorded live to Xltronic radio. And one of the sets was a true marathon, spanning 27 hours. You can get them and lots and lots of other nice stuff as torrents from Xltronic on this page.
One of the 3 sets is only available through the xlrtronic podcast, wich in turn also has lots of other utterly excellent mixes by people like dmx, cylob, mike paradians, but especially by the terrific people at xltronic! I really have to thank the Xltronic mb for a great deal of the electronic music I now listen too. When I found it back in 2002 it was still called aphextwin.nu, after having bought drukQs by Aphex Twin, and Geogaddi by Boards of Canada, two albums that really changed my life!
